Baosteel’s Zhanjiang Steel starts construction of blast furnace No. 3

Chinese steel producer Baosteel’s Zhanjiang Steel production base has announced that construction of its blast furnace No. 3 began on December 6, with the blast furnace scheduled to start production in July 2021. By then, the overall annual production capacities of molten iron, molten steel and finished steel at the Zhanjiang Steel production base will amount to 12.25 million mt, 12.528 million mt and 10.81 million mt, respectively.
