Baosteel production SA738B steel for use in nuclear power plants recently passed auditing by Westinghouse Electric Company's quality management system. Baosteel has now started mass production of the steel in question and has become the supplier for the construction of China's third nuclear power plant. This is the first time that Baosteel has organized its production in accordance with international quality system standards for material used in nuclear power plants, thereby laying the foundation for Baosteel's entry into the international market for the subject steels.

Baosteel's SA738B steels for nuclear power plants are being used in the safety shell of the nuclear power station currently under construction in Zhejiang province, and are subject to the multi-layered auditing of Westinghouse Electric Company's quality management system. None of the iron and steel companies in China had ever before passed an auditing test by this system.
