Chinese steelmaker Baosteel has announced its ex-factory prices for December. The details are as follows:
1. Hot rolled
November prices are still in effect. Thus, the price of SPHC 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C is still RMB 4,942/mt ($724/mt).
2. Cold rolled
Prices have seen a decrease of RMB 970/mt ($42/mt). Following the adjustment, the price of DC01 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C is RMB 4,526/mt ($663/mt), while the price of DC04 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C is RMB 5,226/mt ($765/mt).
3. Hot rolled and pickled
Prices are down by RMB 1,000/mt ($146/mt). As a result, the new price of SPHC 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C is RMB 4,047/mt ($593/mt).
4. Galvanized steel
Prices have decreased by RMB 1,000/mt ($146/mt).
All the above prices exclude taxes (17 percent VAT) and are effective as of November 18, 2008.
