Baosteel changes top management

SteelOrbis Shanghai Baosteel announced last night that Xu Lejiang is to move to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Baosteel Group, while Ai Baojun will assume the office of President of Baosteel Group. Due to his old age, Xie Qihua is now relieved of the position of Chairman of the Board. Xie Qihua, incidentally, is China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) chairman at present. Aged 48, Xu Lejiang graduated from Jiangxi Metallurgy College in 1982 and was awarded an MBA degree by Fudan University in 2000. Starting from 1998, he worked as Vice-president of Baosteel Group, before assuming the position of President in January 2005 in the group. Later in April 2006, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Board for Baosteel Co. Ltd.
