Inner Mongolia-based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Iron and Steel (Baogang) exported 1.34 million mt of finished steel in the January-October period of this year, of which 780,000 mt were exported to 20 countries in the One Belt, One Road area, accounting for 58.2 percent of its total exports in the given period, as reported by Baogang Daily.
Baogang has been cooperating with state-owned companies, including China Railway Construction Corp, China Railway Group and China Communications Construction Company, which helps its finished steel to be used in key projects in One Belt, One Road area.
Li Degang, general manager of Baogang Group, stated that Baogang is aiming to have its exported products account for a 25 percent share of its total sales, while it will also focus on enlarging the range of application of its finished steel products and will focus increasingly on being a service provider.
