Average HRB 400 rebar price in China up 2.2 percent in mid-April

In mid-April (April 11-20) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were respectively recorded at RMB 4,137.2/mt ($616.6/mt), RMB 4,255.0/mt ($634.1/mt), RMB 4,149.0/mt ($618.3/mt), RMB 4,100.3/mt ($611.1/mt) and RMB 4,239.0/mt ($631.7/mt), up RMB 88.3/mt ($13.2/mt), RMB 105.3/mt ($15.7/mt), RMB 52.4/mt ($7.8/mt), RMB 57.4/mt ($8.6/mt) and RMB 1.0/mt ($0.15/mt), i.e., rising by 2.2 percent, 2.5 percent, 1.3 percent, 1.4 percent, and remaining almost stable, respectively, compared to prices in early April (April 1-10), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.

In the given period, the average price in China of 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes was recorded at RMB 4,863.1/mt ($724.8/mt), down RMB 5.1/mt ($0.76/mt) or 0.1 percent compared to prices in early April (April 1-10).
