Average HRB 400 rebar price in China up 1.4 percent in mid-September

In mid-September (September 11-20) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 5 mm x 5 mm angles and 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes were respectively recorded at RMB 4,550.9/mt ($663.4/mt), RMB 4,677.7/mt ($681.9/mt), RMB 5,430.9/mt ($791.7/mt) and RMB 4,536.0/mt ($661.2/mt), increasing by RMB 60.8/mt ($8.9/mt), RMB 56.4/mt ($8.2/mt), RMB 15.3/mt ($2.2/mt) and RMB 7.7/mt ($1.1/mt), i.e., up 1.4 percent, 1.2 percent, 0.3 percent and 0.2 percent, respectively, compared to prices in early September (September 1-10), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.

In mid-September, the average price of 20 mm Q235 common medium plate and 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet were recorded at RMB 4,501.6/mt ($656.2/mt) and RMB 4,425.3/mt ($645.1/mt), down RMB 3.8/mt ($0.6/mt) and RMB 15.5/mt ($2.3/mt), decreasing by 0.1 percent and 0.3 percent compared to the price in early September.
