Average HRB 400 rebar price in China up 0.9 percent in late January

In late-January (January 21-23) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet and 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes were respectively recorded at RMB 3,871.1/mt ($574.3/mt), RMB 3,951.9/mt ($586.3/mt), RMB 3,898.8/mt ($578.5/mt), RMB 3,845.4/mt ($570.5/mt) and RMB 4,812.4/mt ($714.0/mt), increasing by RMB 36.0/mt ($5.4/mt), RMB 23.2/mt ($3.4/mt), RMB 30.5/mt ($4.5/mt), RMB 39.1/mt ($5.8/mt) and RMB 12.2/mt ($1.8/mt), i.e., up by 0.9 percent, 0.6 percent, 0.8 percent, 1.0 percent and 0.3 percent, while the average price of 5 mm x 5 mm angles was recorded at RMB 4,126.6/mt (($612.3/mt), down RMB 13.6/mt ($2.02/mt) or 0.3 percent, all compared to prices in mid-January (January 21-30), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
