Australian Legacy to fast track Robertson Range iron ore project exploration

Legacy Iron Ore Limited (Legacy), a West Australian explorer with a broad spread of interests in gold and iron, has announced that exploration at the company's Robertson Range iron ore project will be fast tracked, following the grant of the two major tenements of the group late last month, a company press release said.

The tenements adjoin those of FerrAus Ltd and Atlas Iron Ltd, which hold a combined resource base of some 200 million mt of high grade iron ore.

The press release said that satellite imagery has identified fourteen iron ore targets, and initial rock chip sampling of outcropping mineralization has produced very encouraging high grade iron ore assays to 55.7 percent Fe.

A helicopter assisted field mapping and sampling program will commence in the second week of February 2010.
