Arcelor to convert EZ line to HDG

European steelmaker Arcelor announced that it plans to convert the existing electrolytic galvanizing line (EZ) at Mardyck in northern France into a hot dipped galvanizing line in order to meet the increasing demand of hot dipped galvanized material. The plan is scheduled to complete in 2005 with an estimated cost of €30 million. After the conversion, the mill's annual capacity will increase to 400'000 tons from 350'000 tons.
