Arcelor to acquire 100% stake in Stahlwerke Bremen

According to the statement released by Luxembourg-based steel producer Arcelor, the company has reached an agreement with Bremer Investitions-Gesellschaft (BIG) to purchase 30.3% stake of BIG in its subsidiary Stahlwerke Bremen (SWB). With this purchase, Arcelor will hold 100% of SWB. Located in Bremen, northern Germany, SWB produces flat carbon steel products. The facility has two blast furnaces (BF), a hot strip mill, a cold rolling mill, two galvanizing lines and a tailor welded blank production facility. SWB produced 3.5 million tons of steel products in 2003.
