Arcelor sells its stake in Carsid to Duferco

According to the statement released by Luxembourg-based steel producer Arcelor, the company has signed an agreement with Duferco and Sogepa to sell 40% of the capital of Carsid owned by Arcelor to Duferco. The agreement covers transfer of shares of Arcelor in Carsid to Duferco through Usinor Belgium, termination of the contract to supply Cockerill Sambre through Carsid's EAF route, the sale of EAF to Arcelor, the ongoing use of the continuous casting line and ladle furnace by Carsid under a lease contract. Meanwhile, Arcelor has announced that it will start using online purchasing technology to supply 40% of its raw materials. In line with this plan, the company will commission departments in 60 countries.
