SteelOrbis has been informed that Chinese steelmaker Anshan Sanhe Steel Rolling Co., Ltd., based in  the city of Anshan in Liaoning Province, has commenced production of the first IPE sections in China to be made strictly in accordance with EU standards.

The sizes of the items in question vary in the range of 140-200 mm and will be exported to the European Union in bulk quantities.

Previously, some other mills in the city of Tangshan in Hebei Province also offered IPE products; however, their material did not fully meet the requirements of EU standards. Although such items were welcomed in the Middle East market, as price was a more important issue than quality, they could not be sold to the European Union. Now, however, Sanhe Steel will be the first S235JR grade IPE producer in China, allowing the company to penetrate the European market.
