Angang produces first batch of 5 mm high carbon drawing quality wire rods

On January 30, Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Anshan Iron and Steel Corp. (Angang) successfully produced the first batch of high carbon drawing quality wire rods of 5 mm diameter at production line No. 2 of its wire rod plant. Angang has thus become the first Chinese steelmaker to produce drawing quality wire rods of the given specification.
 
Production line No. 2 of Angang's wire rod plant, which was commissioned on November 25 last year, has an annual production capacity of 600,000 mt of wire rod.
