AK Steel recalls last group of Middletown workers

Union officials concern that the last group of laid-off workers has been called back to work at AK Steel's Middletown Works in Ohio.

The company has recalled the remaining 55 workers on layoff over the past week, the last of the 370 workers idled in May. The recalls were attributed to the restart of the blast furnace at Middletown Works along with an increase in orders. Middletown's blast furnace was taken down for maintenance in March, and was restarted in early July.

The company employs over 1,600 at Middletown.
