AK Steel reaches agreement with Butler workers

AK Steel Corp. has announced it has reached a tentative labor contract agreement with the 1,400 service and maintenance workers at its Butler plant represented by United Autoworkers Local 3303. The new agreement will replace the previous contract, which is set to expire on Sept. 30. AK Steel has said they cannot discuss terms of the agreement, as it still subject to ratification by Local 3303. The Butler plant primarily produces electrical and stainless sheet steel products for the automotive, aircraft, chemical processing, restaurant, cookware and medical markets.
