Japanese H2 scrap for export under pressure

Sources inform SteelOrbis that South Korea’s Hyundai Steel has decreased its bid amount for Japanese H2 scrap from approximately JPY 30,000/mt ($274/mt) FOB Japan on a May 23 bid to JPY 29,000/mt ($268/mt) FOB Japan, down $6/mt. The mill has reportedly booked ex-US scrap cargoes in the past week and, therefore, placed lower bid levels in Japan.
