Japanese H2 domestic scrap prices trend up

On December 29, SteelOrbis reported Japanese domestic H2 scrap purchasing prices by mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya regions at JPY 35,100-35,500/mt ($312-315/mt) delivered to customer.

According to sources, the scrap purchasing prices in the regions mentioned above have increased to JPY 35,300-35,800/mt ($318-323/mt) delivered to customer. Firms like Tokyo Steel are reportedly paying more at some locations.
