Ex-Brazil pig iron offers to US up on recent trades

On January 5, SteelOrbis reported ex-Brazil basic steelmaking pig iron export offers at $385-390/mt FOB Northern Brazil ports and stable at $350-360/mt FOB Southern Brazil ports.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that offers increased to $390-395/mt FOB Northern Brazil ports and $360-370/mt FOB Southern Brazil ports for March shipments. The northern range increased by $5/mt while the southern range increased by $10/mt. The most recent deals from the southern region are reportedly at $358-360/mt FOB.

According to the same sources, US mills have purchased pig iron at $390-400/mt CFR from Brazil in the past week. From Northern Brazil, the purchase price is estimated at $395-400/mt CFR.
