In the local Italian market, the recent price increase registered by the scrap allowed Italian rebar producers to set their domestic prices at €385/mt ($420/mt) ex-works. In the meantime, local demand has remained weak and customers are confused about the current price movements which are different from those usually seen in the market in autumn. Last year, in October and the first part of November prices had decreased by over 30 percent to €330-345/mt ($360-376/mt) ex-works, while in the same period this year prices have increased by 30 percent.
