Demand continues to be slack in the Italian domestic rebar market, reflecting the stagnation of construction activity in the country. As for prices, local sources have reported a decrease compared to last week's figures. Currently, Italian producers' domestic prices for 14-26 mm rebar are at €415-425/mt ($481-493/mt) ex-works, indicating a €10/mt ($12/mt) decrease week on week. Such levels are equal to the minimum prices seen in the second half of last October.

Meanwhile, offer prices from Italian producers to the Algerian market seem to have increased. Prices are at €440-445/mt ($510-516/mt) CFR for February deliveries, compared to €430-435/mt ($499-505/mt) CFR one month ago. According to sources, several Italian producers' order books are almost full for February, while rebar demand is good from Algerian buyers.
