It is observed that international demand received by Greek rebar exporters has remained strong during the past week. Market sources state that the main part of this demand has been received from Greek exporters’ traditional target market such as Balkan states, Lebanon and Israel, while demand from Algeria - another traditional export market for Greek rebar - has not improved yet. Moreover, Greek rebar exporters have reportedly been receiving price inquiries from the US, though offers have been suspended for now since there is not enough time for shipments due to the holiday season in Europe. Meanwhile, Greek rebar producers’ offers to the international markets have moved sideways week on week, with deals still being concluded at €500-510/mt ($580-592/mt) FOB.
