As of October 18, average cold rolled coil (CRC) prices in the Chinese domestic market have increased on week-on-week basis, while transaction activity in the overall market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
Local Chinese CRC prices indicated increased in the first part of the given week, while they edged down slightly in the latter part of the week as ferrous metal futures prices moved down in that period. Capacity cuts during the winter season in northern China will reduce CRC supply to the market and thereby provide a certain degree of support for CRC prices. It is thought that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move sideways in the coming week.
