Yolbulan Bastug Metalurji AS, a 55:45 JV company established between leading Turkish steel companies Yolbulan Metal Sanayi ve Ticaret AS and Bastug Group, will construct a melt shop with an annual production capacity of 1.3 million mt in Turkey's Osmaniye Industrial Zone.
With a total investment cost of €125 million, the facility will also include a H-beam rolling mill with an annual production capacity of 500,000 mt. In addition, the joint venture company has plans for the construction of a port in the Yumurtalik region. It is reported that the initial capital of the new company is TRY 50 million.
The melt shop to be constructed within the facility will be commissioned in 2010, whereas the rolling mill will be operative in 2011. The H-beam rolling mill will be able to produce profiles with widths of up to 600 mm. The facility, which will be located on an area covering a total of 250,000 square meters, is primarily planned to meet Yolbulan and Bastug's billet requirements.
