WISCO produces 170,000 mt of high-speed heavy rails in Jan-Sept

Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) has announced that in the first nine months of this year it produced 170,000 mt of heavy rails for high-speed railways, mainly for China’s Beijing-Wuhan high-speed railway project.
 
In the January-September period of this year, within the scope of its supply contract with China’s Ministry of Railways, WISCO completed production of 400,000 mt of heavy rails, including the mentioned 170,000 mt of heavy rails for high-speed railways.
 
Meanwhile, WISCO also stated that it is currently producing a batch of 16,000 mt of UIC 54 standard heavy rails for an export order for Pakistan.
