WISCO chairman faces corruption charges

Chinese anti-corruption authorities have announced that Deng Qilin, chairman of Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Group (WISCO), is facing corruption charges. 

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Chinese Communist Party, the party’s top anticorruption body  has accused Mr. Deng of “serious disciplinary violations,” including charges of obstructing inspections, accepting bribes and abusing power. Mr. Deng has been expelled from the Communist Party and is currently awaiting trial.
