Vietnam’s steel output up 27 percent in January-February

In February this year, Vietnam’s steel production reached 1.53 million mt, down 20 percent, while the country’s steel sales decreased by 18 percent to 1.35 million mt, both compared to January, as announced by the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA).

In the first two months of the current year, Vietnam’s steel production rose by 27 percent year on year to 3.69 million mt. In the given period, Vietnam’s steel sales reached 3.01 million mt, rising by 30.7 percent compared to the same period of 2017, with exports increasing by 38.6 percent year on year to 728,480 mt.
