The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has determined that a request from Maanshan Leader Metal Products Co., Ltd. (Maanshan Leader) for a new shipper review of the antidumping duty order on certain steel nails from China, received on August 24, 2009, meets the statutory and regulatory requirements for initiation. The period of review (POR) of this new shipper review is January 23, 2008 through July 31, 2009.

In its request, Maanshan Leader has certified that, since the initiation of the investigation, it has never been affiliated with any exporter or producer who exported certain steel nails to the US during the period of investigation, including those not individually examined during the investigation. Maanshan Leader has also certified that its export activities are not controlled by the central government of China.

Accordingly, the DOC has initiated this new shipper review for shipments of certain steel nails from China produced and exported by Maanshan Leader.
