Ukraine issues Q1 2010 export data

According to the data for the first quarter of 2010, Ukrainian exports of steel pipes decreased by 22.7 percent year on year to 239,190 mt, and its semi-finished steel product exports dropped by 10.9 percent year on year to about 2.623 million mt.

Meanwhile, in January-March this year, the country's exports of flat rolled steel increased by 8.3 percent to 1.543 million mt and its exports of long steel went up by 43.3 percent to 1.483 million mt, both compared to the same period last year.

In addition, in Q1 2010, Ukraine registered an 18.4 percent increase in its pig iron exports to 356,170 mt, an 84 percent rise in its coke exports to 311,920 mt, and a 5.1 percent growth in its scrap exports to 94,280 mt, all compared to Q1 2009.
