According to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, so far in May this year the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry came to 77.8 percent, increasing slightly from 76 percent in April and down from 79.6 percent in May 2010.
Meanwhile, in May, the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, declined by 0.5 percentage points month on month, falling to 70.8 percent - up from 65.2 percent in May last year.
