Turkey’s steel exports rise 11.86 percent in value in April

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Exporters' Association (TIM), in April this year Turkey's iron and steel product exports totaled $1.09 billion in value, increasing by 11.86 percent year on year and up 4.35 percent over the previous month, while exports of articles of iron and steel fell by 4.47 percent compared to April 2009 and were up 27.74 percent month on month, amounting to a value of $127.34 million.

Meanwhile, Turkey's iron and steel product exports in the January-April period of this year totaled $3.61 billion, while exports of articles of iron and steel amounted to $482.81 million, decreasing by 6.72 percent and up 20.27 percent year on year respectively.
