According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year Turkey's rebar (including round bar) exports amounted to 742,958 metric tons, remaining stable compared to the previous month and up 36.9 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $471.3 million, falling by 2.5 percent compared to the previous month and up 44.1 percent from June 2011.
On the other hand, in the first half of the current year Turkey's rebar exports stood at 4.34 million metric tons, up 26.1 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $2.8 billion, increasing also by 26.1 percent as compared to January-June 2011.
In the first half of this year, Turkey's rebar exports to the US, one of the largest rebar export destinations of Turkey, increased 61.1 percent, while rebar exports to the UAE, Turkey's top rebar export destination in the first six months last year, decreased by 39.5 percent, both compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, in June this year, rebar exports to Saudi Arabia increased significantly on year-on-year basis.
