Turkey’s January steel product exports down 20 percent over December

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Exporters' Association (TIM), in January this year Turkey's iron and steel product exports totaled $683.5 million in value, decreasing by 29.54 percent year on year and down 19.52 percent over December 2009, while exports of ferrous and non-ferrous metals rose by 31.11 percent compared to January 2009 and were down 11.95 percent month on month, amounting to a value of $390.7 million.
