On January 25, German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG announced that it has sold more than 100,000 metric tons of its new organic coated sheet product line, namely PLADUR ZM, since its launch in the second quarter of FY 2008-2009. The company also announced the launch of a new product called PLADUR ZM Premium, designed for prestige buildings.

According to the company's statement, PLADUR ZM and PLADUR ZM Premium are cold rolled steel strips coated with ZM EcoProtect, in which a new zinc-magnesium alloy features twice the level of corrosion protection as compared to the conventional hot-dip zinc coating. ZM EcoProtect is produced on the company's hot-dip coating lines in Kreuztal-Eichen, Finnentrop and Dortmund.
