German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp AG has decided to sell its service provider unit Düsseldorf-based Xervon as a part of its integrated strategic development program announced in May this year.

Accordingly, ThyssenKrupp signed an agreement with the German waste disposal company Remondis on August 19, 2011 for the sale of Xervon. The acquisition is subject to approval by the regulatory authorities and the responsible supervisory bodies.

ThyssenKrupp started the disposal process for Xervon in October 2010, having postponed it in the previous year due to the global financial and economic crisis.
