On August 7, Hebei-based Chinese steelmaker Tangshan Iron and Steel Co. (Tangsteel) trial-produced 2,100 mt of 380CL hot rolled coil for auto wheels, in three specifications, on its 1700 production line.
330CL and 380CL are the two grades of auto wheel steel widely used in China. Use of 380CL steel can lower production costs, reduce weight of autos and save energy. Increasing demand for this product in China has reached more than one million mt per year.
