Taiwan's iron and steel export value declines 5.7 percent in 2016

In December last year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports increased by 14.3 percent year on year to $1.34 billion, according to the preliminary statistics issued by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance. In the given month, the country's iron and steel import value totaled $702 million, up 26.6 percent year on year. 
 
In 2016, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports declined 5.7 percent to $14.4 billion, while the value of the country's imports of iron and steel totaled $7.8 billion, decreasing by 10.6 percent, both on year-on year basis.
