Swedish basic metal new orders down 4.8% in Apr from Mar

In Sweden, industrial production remained stable in April this year compared to March, and was down 6.2 percent year on year in working day-adjusted figures, according to Statistics Sweden (SCB). New orders for the Swedish industry decreased by 1.6 percent in seasonally adjusted figures in April compared to March. In April, new orders decreased by nine percent in working day-adjusted figures compared to the same month of the previous year.
 
In April this year, new orders for basic metals in Sweden decreased 4.8 percent compared to March, while new orders for the Swedish fabricated metal products industry, except machinery and equipment, increased by 7.8 percent in April compared to the previous month.

On the other hand, in April Swedish basic metal output decreased by five percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In the month in question, the country's manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment output, fell by 6.3 percent year on year.
