Scrap import at Alashankou surpasses one million tons

According to the Bozhou government office in China's Xinjiang province, scrap import at the province's Alashankou port rose 43% year on year to hit 1.03 million tons in the first half of 2005. Total trade value of the scrap imports increased 66% year on year to reach $149 million.
