Saarstahl hikes long product prices for second quarter

German longs producer Saarstahl AG reported that they are going to effect an average of almost €50/tonne increase on wire rod and bar prices. The increase will be valid from April 1 onwards for deliveries in second quarter. However it is added that prices can be readjusted according to further rises in feedstock prices, and long term contracts will also be subject to these readjustments. Apart from strong demand from markets all around, boosting costs such as feedstock, energy, processing and transport were the main reasons for this price hike.
