Olympic Steel, headquartered in Ohio, is closing its Siler City, North Carolina fabrication location this summer.

A company spokesperson confirmed to SteelOrbis that due to business strategy decisions and regional demand shifts, the location will be laying off approximately 50 employees and shutting down the operation that was acquired in 2006 from PS&W.

The site has historically supplied heavy industry OEMs in the Southeast with component fabrication and weldments in support of daily production line requirements.
