NDRC: China eliminates 42.39 million mt of crude steel capacity by May 31

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has stated in the press release issued on June 15 that in the current year up to the end of May the country eliminated 42.39 million mt of crude steel production capacity, equivalent to 84.8 percent of the annual target, while it eliminated 97 million mt of coal production capacity, equivalent to 65 percent of the annual target.
