Jindal Group to establish steel plant in West Bengal

Indian steel producer Jindal Group is reportedly planning to establish a steel plant in West Bengal with an investment Rupees 120 billion ($2.65 billion). The planned steel plant will have an annual production capacity of 2.5 million tons. The company officials stated that they are negotiating the subject with the state government and added that they chose this state due to its proximity to port, availability of raw materials and manpower in the state. Moreover, the officials stated that they are hopeful that the government will help them get necessary linkages to the raw materials.
