Japanese steelmakers to increase steel prices

Japanese steelmakers are expected to increase prices of steel products for auto and electronics manufacturers due to the increased cost of iron ore. The steelmakers including Nippon Steel Corp, JFE Steel Corp, Sumitomo Metal Industries and Kobe Steel plan to demand price increases of 5 percent to 10 percent for steel sheet used in automobiles and home electronics.
