On May 23, 2008 the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) released its preliminary decision on imports of light-walled rectangular pipe and tube from Turkey following the petition filed by 12 US companies.
The companies in question were; Allied Tube & Conduit, Atlas Tube, California Steel and Tube, EXLTUBE, Hannibal Industries, Leavitt Tube, Maruichi American Corporation, Searing Industries, Southland Tube, Vest Inc., Welded Tube, and Western Tube
The final phase of the investigations was scheduled by the ITC following notification of a preliminary determination by the US Department of Commerce (DOC) that imports of light-walled rectangular pipe and tube from Turkey were being sold at less than fair value.
Finally, after the publishing of the final investigation notice in the federal register on February 5, 2008, the hearing was held on April 11, 2008 and the US ITC decided that an industry in the United States is materially injured by reason of imports from Turkey of light-walled rectangular pipe and tube that have been found by the DOC to be sold in the US at less than fair value.
The ITC transmitted its determination in this investigation to the Secretary of Commerce on May 23, 2008
