The U.S. International Trade Commission made an affirmative preliminary determination in the antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations of drill pipe from China. The determination, made early Friday, was based on threat of material injury.

As the result of the Commission's determination, these investigations will continue; the U.S. Department of Commerce will conduct full-scale antidumping and countervailing duty investigations of drill pipe from China.

The reasons for the Commission’s determination are unknown at this time. However, within the next three weeks the Commission will publish its written determination, which will contain an explanation of its decision.
