ITC determination on certain welded steel pipes from China

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) yesterday announced its determination regarding safeguard investigation into certain circular welded non-alloy steel pipe from China. The ITC made an affirmative determination, finding that the subject product imported from China is being imported into the US in such increased quantities as to cause or threaten to cause market disruption. As a result of the voting, the ITC will consider the issue of remedy. ITC will send its report, including its remedy proposal, to the President and the US Trade Representative by October 21, 2005. The President will make the final decision concerning whether to provide relief to the industry and the type and duration of any such relief.
