According to the statistics released by the Italian steel producers' association Federacciai, in the first seven months of 2011 Italy's steel imports reached 11.69 million metric tons, increasing by 15.3 percent, while its steel exports totaled 10.52 million metric tons, up 13.6 percent, both compared to January-July 2010.
