Italy’s Acciaierie Venete announces revamping of two rolling mills

Padua, Italy-based steelmaker Acciaierie Venete has announced that it has inked two contracts for the revamping of its plants in Sarezzo and Mura, both located in the province of Brescia, with Italian plantmaker Automazioni Industriali Capitanio (AIC).

As regards the Sarezzo plant, AIC will supply all electrical equipment for the rolling line, including a complete automation system. The new equipment will be installed during the plant's summer shutdown in August.

At the Mura rolling mill, AIC will overhaul the reheating furnace and optimize gas management and consumption.

Acciaierie Venete operates several production centers in northern Italy, including steel mills, rolling mills, heat treatment and cold machining plants. The group has an annual steel production capacity of 1.5 million mt, supplying the automobile, mechanical, energy and construction industries.

Automazioni Industriali Capitanio, based in Odolo in Brescia, supplies industrial automation systems. The company has 35 years of experience in the steelmaking sector and has met customers' needs in more than 40 countries worldwide.
