Italian industrial production still 17 percent lower than 2008 peak

According to the preliminary figures released by Confindustria (confederation of Italian industries), in May this year Italian industrial production grew by 0.1 percent compared to April, whereas in April a 0.2 percent rise had been registered as compared to March.

Italian industrial output in May indicated a decrease of 17.2 percent compared to the peak level reached in April 2008, although output improved by 12.1 percent compared to the bottom level of March 2009.
